Roll Length Calculator

Calculate the total length of paper on a roll from its physical dimensions. Enter core diameter, outer diameter, and material thickness.

Roll Specifications

The hole in the center (typically 12mm, 25mm, 40mm, or 76mm)

The full diameter of the wound roll

Paper thickness (typically 0.05-0.10mm for thermal paper)

How It Works

The calculator uses the Archimedean spiral formula to determine the length of paper wound on a roll:

L = π × n × (D + d) / 2

Where: L = length, n = number of wraps, D = outer diameter, d = core diameter

Linerless vs Traditional: More Length Per Roll

📜

Traditional Labels

Includes backing liner that takes up ~40% of roll thickness

🎯

Linerless Labels

No backing waste = ~40% more labels per roll
